How we got into this internet marketing thing.
Prime Web Design, originally called Prime Digital Design, was unintentionally started in the summer of 2017 by Scott McKay.
After spending most of his career in sales and sales management (B2C and B2B) in several Fortune 500 companies, Scott struck out on his own in the spring of 2017, to work on building a digital recruiting project.
Within a few months, Scott began to get requests from friends and friends of friends that needed their own business websites.
So, Prime Web Design was started as a bit of a side gig.
Initially, we built websites using templates.
We quickly discovered that cookie-cutter designs weren’t helping our customers separate themselves from the competition in a meaningful way.
We then hired our first college-accredited designer and started offering custom web design and custom logo design with brand style guides.
As we continued to work on projects, we found that our customers had a real need for clarifying their unique position in their industry.
They struggled with communicating why they were the best option.
Since it’s the market positioning and wording that turns visitors into revenue, we knew this was a critical piece to helping our customers get more high-quality leads and sales.
We added Strategy Positioning to all of our packages and started hiring professional, industry-specific writers, taking that burden off our customers’ plates and improving their ROI at the same time.
Shortly after that, we started to hear from our customers that they wanted to rank on search engines to get more local customers.
We got down to business and sharpened our own in-house SEO skills.
Once we had our own website ranking on the first page of Google for search terms like “web design San Antonio”, “SEO San Antonio” and “website maintenance San Antonio”, we added Local SEO into all of our web design products and started offering it as a standalone product.
We didn’t know it at the time, but what we were creating was a predictable revenue-generating method that works for just about any local business.
We call it the Power Launch Framework.
Our method has resulted in big gains and big profits for our customers.
Over the years, we’ve been honored and blessed to work with many great local businesses around San Antonio and across Texas and Scott continues to lead every project.
