| The Wood Duck is a small spectacular duck. The male, with its iridescent purplish-blue, green, red and yellow, is our most colorful duck. Though wood ducks spend most of their lives on water like other ducks, they nest in tree cavities or man made boxes, and can often be seen perching on branches.
